Reward the whole basket, not the visit count.

Some people come for a sandwich and a coffee. Some come for the platters, the good olives and enough cheese to feed twenty. Both are your customers, and they shouldn't be earning at the same rate. A spend card in their phone wallet keeps a running tally: staff tap $10, $20, $50 at the counter, it builds across visits, and at $300 the free picnic loaf is theirs. No till integration, no cards behind the counter with somebody's name pencilled on.

The counter does one thing

Ring it up, tap it in: scan the customer's card, tap the amounts - $20, $10 and $5 for a $35 sale - and tap Add. The card in their wallet updates in seconds. Rounding is your call, and rounding a $46 lunch up to $50 costs you cents and reads as generous.

When they hit the target: the redeem button appears on the counter app and the card says the reward's ready. Hand over the loaf, tap Redeem, and anything past the target carries on toward the next one - useful when a catering order clears the target in a single go.

Regulars notice

A coupon ("$5 off your first order over $40") shared on your socials brings new faces to the cabinet, claimable once per person, with a little sandwich mark on the front. And when the new season's prosciutto arrives or you open the Christmas platter book, a message to every card holder lands on their lock screens.

Questions delis ask

How do staff enter the amount?

Tap preset buttons - $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 - that add up on screen, then one tap commits it. A $35 sale is three taps: $20, $10, $5. A $260 platter order is four: $100, $100, $50, $10. It's faster than wrapping the change.

Does it need my till or POS?

No. It never touches your till - staff tap the amount into the counter app themselves. That's what makes it a five-minute setup instead of an integration project.

Is the tally money I owe the customer?

No. The tally is simply a record of what they've already bought from you, used to work out when they've earned the reward. That reward is a discount or a freebie you hand over at your counter - there's no stored value and nothing redeemable for cash.

What does it cost?

NZ$19 a month including GST, however many customers you have. The first 30 days are free, no credit card needed.
